The CSP (Continuing Study Program) in Color & Trim provides concentrated knowledge in these two fields with a variety of formats, materials, concepts and objectives.
As well as its aesthetic properties, colour influences our perception and our behaviour. Many design related sectors are calling for more and more specialists in colour and trim to work in the automobile industry, interior design, architecture, sports accessories, furniture, etc.
This CSP explores the latest trends, different types of natural and synthetic pigments, brand strategies, materials and the symbology of colour to ensure students are able to roll out their full potential in future design projects. The course is divided into two modules which combine cultural, technical and project know-how with workshops, outings and talks delivered by sector experts.
– To activate the student’s colour term base.
– To explore the universal systems that define and organise colour.
– To acquire individual methodologies for creating ranges.
– To detect creative opportunities from a chromatic standpoint.
– To anticipate seasonal colours and trends.
– To learn about new materials and the colour palettes that work best.
METHODOLOGY.
The course starts with a specific theoretical-cultural approach to colour before introducing a series of tools and practical exercises for the student to experiment with colour application in different formats, materials and concepts and for different purposes. Lessons include presentations, hands‑on workshops and opportunities to collaborate with acclaimed local and international figures in the sector so as to share in their experience and passion. The course ends with a final project to be submitted in a personal portfolio with colour as the centrepiece based on a personalised chromatic pallet.
